•
All Naturals Sweetner Safe For Type 1 and II Diabetics
• Won't Raise Blood Sugar Levels
• Helps Prevent Cavities
Sweet X, Xylitol Crystals is
a naturally-occurring 5-carbon polyol sweetener found
in many fruits and vegetables. Xylitol is even produced
by the human body during normal metabolism of glucose.
Xylitol is the sweetest of all the polyols. It is
as sweet as sucrose, has no after-taste and is safe
for diabetics. Xylitol has 40% less calories than
sugar and, for this reason, a caloric value of 2.4
kcal/g is accepted for nutritional labelling in the
EU and the USA. It provides a pleasant cooling effect,
greater than that of any other polyol.
Clinically Proven To Fight
Cavities
In scientific studies over more than 30 years, dental
researchers have pointed to a naturally occurring
sweetener, Xylitol, as a key ingredient in the fight
against tooth decay. Found in natural sources, such
as fruits and vegetables, Xylitol not only adds a
pleasant taste, but it is the only sweetener to show
both passive and active anti-caries effects. Xylitol
cannot be converted to acid in the mouth by bacteria.
It suppresses unfavourable mouth bacteria, especially
Mutans streptococci, and inhibits plaque formation.
A study published in the Journal of Dental Research
showed that the children of mothers who regularly
chewed Xylitol-sweetened gum had about a 70 per cent
reduction in tooth decay.*
Sweet
X Is Safe For Diabetics
Xylitol is a low-glycemic sweetener. It is metabolized
independently of insulin and is slowly absorbed. Therefore,
when xylitol is consumed, the rise in blood glucose
and insulin response associated with the ingestion
of glucose is significantly reduced. Xylitol does
not cause the sharp increase in blood sugar level
or the associated serum insulin response, which is
usually seen following consumption of other carbohydrates.
Thus, Xylitol can be recommended as a sugar-free sweetener
suitable for diabetics as well as for the general
population seeking a healthier lifestyle.
Sweet X Is Safe
The safety of xylitol has been proven in long-term
clinical studies and has been confirmed by all the
major regulatory bodies worldwide. Nevertheless, as
with other polyols, large quantities may have a laxative
effect. The amount tolerated varies with individual
susceptibility and body weight. Most adults can tolerate
at least 40 grams per day.
